I am so passionate about the landscape and scenery in Torridon, I would go as far as saying it is my favourite West coast location and I have found the perfect destination to hold a WildernessFit retreat- Torridon Estate!

Torridon Estate is made up of 150 acres. The house itself is surrounded by a large garden, with native trees framing the large front lawn. Most of the area consists of native woodland, with the River Corry running through the forest and passing beside the house. With a stunning waterfall and deeper plunge pools. For the retreat we will be staying in two of the cottages on the land and all meals will take place in one of the cottages.

The Village of Torridon is situated at the head of loch roughly 1.5 miles from where we are staying and further West round the loch is Shieldaig where the famous ‘Celtman Xtri’ takes place about 15 minutes from where we are staying. We will be sure to take a trip and support the local pub for a pint one of the evenings!

This special retreat is going to make you feel alive and kicking as you take in the epic scenery surrounding you.

Activities will include WildernessFit outdoor fitness sessions in the forest and by the sea, Yoga and breath work sessions in Torridon house, a vegetable fermentation workshop and talk on gut health, coastal foraging with the chance to cook and eat the produce together.

I am also going to take the group on a guided walk to a bothy where we will enjoy one of our meals together by a roaring fire in the most peaceful setting.

I invite you to come on this retreat with an open mind ready to enjoy the simple things in life that we forget to appreciate and hopefully my enthusiasm for Scotland’s rugged, challenging and inspiring landscape will rub off on you!

*Optional Extras- Throughout your stay there will be the option for different types of massage treatment, you just have to let me know in advance if you would like one so that I can schedule it into the itinerary over the weekend. Massages are all £50 for 50 minutes.

CORRY LODGE

With the hum of River Corry nearby and a peaceful front garden looking out toward Loch Torridon, where else would you rather be? Corry Lodge sleeps eight people with one bedroom with an ensuite, three twin bedrooms and two shared bathrooms - one larger bathroom with bath and shower and a smaller shower room. There is a large kitchen which is great for entertaining and a living room with a cosy fireplace. There is wifi access as well as TV/DVD and a laundry room with washer and dryer and outdoor hot tub.

GARDENERS COTTAGE

Surrounded by woodland, fields and old fruit trees, Gardeners Cottage provides a peaceful location for your holiday. There are three bedrooms, all of which can be double or twin rooms, allowing a comfortable cottage for six guests. The cottage has one bathroom with shower and bath. A spacious kitchen with all the kitchen equipment required for self-catering, as well as large living area with a fireplace. Enjoy a sea and mountain view from the outdoor seating area or hot tub in the garden. Well behaved pets are welcome, but an extra fee may apply. Wifi access, TV, DVD and speakers provided.

FOOD AND DRINK

All food will be provided over the retreat. I will be doing all the catering which will include warming hearty breakfast, packed lunches if we are out or a warm meal if on site and a nutritious dinner. I will try and use local seafood and seasonal produce with the menu being mainly vegetarian. All dietary requirements are possible just let me know! Anything that we forage we will eat! I want each retreat to feel totally relaxed so if you enjoy a glass or two of red wine in the evening please feel free to bring some along or a dram as a wee night cap. I won’t provide alcohol for the group over the weekend but everything else is covered.

Meet the team

Yaz Basan

Yaz is the Founder of Wilderness Fit. She is a Level 3 Personal Trainer and Ski Coach. She creates and hosts the retreats and will be who you are in touch with to book and get all the information from including the logistics of travel and accommodation, fitness level, any goals or desires for the weekend or day that you are booked onto. Yaz has a passion for providing an experience for people ' I love watching people open up and relax over a weekend or throughout a day, you set the atmosphere correctly and magic happens.' Yaz will be guiding the outdoor fitness sessions and take you for a fresh dip!

Sarah Collins 

Sarah has been practising yoga for over half her life and has been teaching for eight years, in both Scotland and internationally. A life-long student of embodied movement and healing modalities, Sarah brings her varied studies in yoga, tantra and somatic-based practices into the classes, workshops and 1:1 sessions that she offers. Sarah creates spaces to be fully present, to feel deeply and to bring a sense of playfulness and curiosity to our minds, emotions and physical bodies. 
 
With a passion for the environment and being outdoors, Sarah's classes are inspired by nature, whether inside, cosied up by the fire, or outside in the Scottish, woods and water. 

Hannah Taylor

Hannah is a naturopathic nutritionist with a passion for fermentation as it is an achievable and enjoyable way to bring gut healing, food and drinks into your lifestyle. Hannah offers unique Kombucha brewing and fermentation workshops. These are also an optional extra that you can add into your day or weekend retreat.
